FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — In 2024, the University of Arkansas revealed that the Arkansas Research and Technology Park contributed $346 million to the state’s economy.
The ARTP serves as a launchpad for tech startups, linking them with established companies and innovative research.
It aims to build a community where students and entrepreneurs can brainstorm and collaborate.
On another note, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is facing possible funding cuts.
Mike Malone, vice chancellor for Economic Development at the University of Arkansas, shared that around 600 people work at the park daily. About 400 of them are part of private companies that rent space there. This hub is home to a mix of tech firms, early-stage ventures, researchers, and students, all innovating side by side.
Later this year, the new Silicon Carbide Research Center will open, which is expected to boost activity and enhance the park’s economic influence even further.
