How the Georgia Society of CPAs and Feeding Georgia’s Epic Accounting Food Fight Delivered 1.5 Million Meals to Local Food Banks

The 2025 Georgia Accounting Food Fight wrapped up its 12th year with an impressive result, raising $380,071.50—enough for nearly 1.5 million meals. This initiative, run by Feeding Georgia and the Georgia Society of CPAs, continues to make a significant impact in the fight against hunger in the state.

“We’re so thankful to everyone involved,” said Julie Kuykendall, Executive Director of Feeding Georgia. “Their hard work ensures many families will get the food they need.”

This year, Collins/Moody & Company was honored as the Grand Prize Food Fight Hero, raising $2,100 and scoring the highest points per employee. Meanwhile, Nichols, Cauley and Associates emerged as the Grand Prize Hunger Champion, raising over $61,140.67—the top total for all teams.

The Food Fight aims to stock food banks just after summer, when donations typically drop off after school lunch programs end. Teams made up of accounting professionals competed over two weeks to boost funds for nine food banks across Georgia. Every dollar raised stays local, supporting community food banks directly.

Boyd Search, CEO of the Georgia Society of CPAs, praised the effort. “This year was our most successful yet, with over $380,000 raised. Since we started, we’ve contributed nearly $2.9 million to fight hunger, showing what we can achieve together,” he said.

Currently, 1 in 7 Georgians face food insecurity, highlighting the importance of such fundraisers. Initiatives like this help Feeding Georgia provide nutritious meals and work towards a hunger-free state.

Since its launch in 2014, the Georgia Accounting Food Fight has raised a total of $2,926,634.60, which translates to over 11.7 million meals for local food banks.

The Georgia Society of CPAs thanks all teams, sponsors, and supporters. Combined efforts demonstrate how powerful collective action can be for making a difference.

In a recent report, about 750,000 people in Georgia struggle with food insecurity, reflecting a growing need for effective community programs to address hunger issues. The ongoing support from local organizations reveals how vital it is to team up and take action.

Feeding Georgia works with seven regional food banks, including the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia and Atlanta Community Food Bank, distributing over 180 million pounds of food annually. It’s a significant effort to ensure that no Georgian goes hungry.
