A new NPR/Marist poll found that 60% of Americans disapprove of how federal agents are managing immigration. Even steadfast Republican supporters are urging the administration to mend ties with law enforcement.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott commented, “The White House needs to recalibrate to regain that respect.” In response, Trump reshuffled the Minneapolis operation, withdrawing 700 federal officers. He suggested a “softer touch” while still insisting on firmness against serious criminals.
