The meal distribution aims to support families through local organizations like the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and Helping Hand Mission. These partnerships ensure that those in the community who are struggling can enjoy a warm Thanksgiving meal.
Participants can come to Lenovo Center and pick up pre-packed meal kits. Each kit includes a turkey breast or ham, four large potatoes, apples, oranges, and a pie—everything needed for a festive family gathering. Some bulk items will also be delivered to partner organizations for wider distribution.
This initiative is backed by the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, and US Foods, showcasing a strong commitment to community welfare. According to a recent survey by Feeding America, about 34 million Americans were food insecure in 2021, highlighting the importance of such donations.
