Huskers Secure No. 4 Seed and Exciting Opportunity to Host 2026 Regional Championship!

The Nebraska softball team, ranked No. 2, is gearing up for the 2026 NCAA Tournament as the fourth overall seed. They’ll host the regional games at Bowlin Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska. If they win, they’ll also host a super regional.

Their first game is against South Dakota on May 15 at 5:30 p.m. (CT), and it will be streamed on ESPN+. The Coyotes, who have a record of 20-34-1, won their first Summit League title after defeating Omaha 2-1.

This marks Nebraska’s 28th NCAA Tournament appearance, and they’ve qualified 24 times in the last 31 years. Head Coach Rhonda Revelle has led the team to 24 NCAA appearances, ranking fifth among active coaches at their respective schools. The Huskers are 14th in NCAA Tournament history for appearances and 20th in wins with 69. They have seven Women’s College World Series appearances.

Interestingly, this is the first time Bowlin Stadium has hosted a regional since 2013. The NCAA’s decision to hold regionals at home venues allows teams to play in familiar surroundings, giving them a potential edge.

Tickets for the Lincoln Regional go on sale on May 11 at 3 p.m. (CT). There will be a special sale period for Nebraska Athletics donors before they are available to the general public.

With the excitement building among fans, social media is buzzing. Many are expressing their support and anticipation for the games. Statistically, teams that host regional tournaments tend to have a higher winning percentage than those who don’t. It’s an exciting time for Nebraska softball!
