Husson University Launches Exciting New Food Truck: Delicious Eats on Campus!

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – This school year, the Husson Eagles are excited to introduce their new food truck, Baldwin’s Bites. This food truck will offer tasty snacks and drinks during school events like open houses and home games.

Before welcoming new students, staff got a sneak peek of what’s in store. Husson President Lynne Coy-Ogan shared her excitement: “Our award-winning dining team is ready for welcome weekend. We’re looking forward to celebrating summer’s end and this new initiative.”

On the menu for the staff preview were crab rangoon nachos, ice cream sandwiches, and refreshing energy spritzes. Husson sophomore Grace Weed, who serves as a resident assistant, found it refreshing. “Training has been intense, and this is a nice pick-me-up. As a college student, I love energy drinks!”

Weed also highlighted how the food truck encourages community among students and faculty. “It brings us together in a fun way.” Coy-Ogan echoed this sentiment, noting how events like open houses provide a unique opportunity to connect. “We want students to explore our culture in different settings, like at athletic events.”

Baldwin’s Bites is more than just a food truck; it’s a bridge to the surrounding community. President Coy-Ogan mentioned that the truck has already participated in local festivals, such as the Whoopie Pie Festival and waterfront concerts. “About 66% of our students are from Maine, so engaging with the community and showcasing our dining staff is important,” she said.

In addition to the food truck, Husson is enhancing campus life by introducing a new maker’s space for artists. This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to foster creativity and connection.
