Hyderabad, July 7: Great news for travelers! Starting July 10, the Kacheguda–Yesvantpur–Kacheguda Vande Bharat Express is increasing its capacity. The South Central Railway (SCR) is doubling the train’s size from eight to 16 coaches. This means the train will now carry up to 1,128 passengers!
This high-speed train connects the tech hubs of Hyderabad and Bengaluru and has become incredibly popular. It kicked off its journey with eight coaches, catering to 530 passengers. It has consistently run at full capacity, prompting Indian Railways to add eight more coaches to meet the growing demand.
New Coach Breakdown:
- 14 Chair Cars: Seats 1,024 passengers
- 2 Executive Class Coaches: Seats 104 passengers
Sandeep Mathur, General Manager of South Central Railway, shared, “With the increase in capacity, more rail passengers will enjoy the comfort and speed of the Vande Bharat Express on this key route.”
This upgrade is important for both travelers and the economy. Hyderabad is a growing hub for technology and pharmaceuticals, while Bengaluru is known as India’s startup capital. The rail service has become a favored choice for professionals, students, and tourists moving between these vibrant cities.
In addition, recent statistics from Indian Railways show that the Vande Bharat trains have recorded over 150% occupancy on specific routes since their launch. This level of demand emphasizes how essential these services are for connecting urban centers, and boosting India’s rail network aligns with broader initiatives to improve intercity transit.
The enhancements to the Vande Bharat line will likely facilitate even more travel, making it easier for people to conduct business or enjoy leisurely trips across these two major locations.
