Hydro has joined the Suppliers Partnership for the Environment (SP), bringing together automotive manufacturers, suppliers, and environmental groups to boost sustainability in the industry.

Aluminum can be recycled endlessly. Products made from recycled aluminum are just as good as new. However, a lot of it still ends up in landfills. We need stronger value chains to ensure we have reliable sources of raw materials. By joining the Suppliers Partnership for the Environment, Hydro aims to help automakers adopt greener practices and keep more aluminum scrap in the country. This will support the production of American cars and trucks in a more sustainable way.
Duncan Pitchford, President of Hydro Aluminum Metals USA, shared his thoughts: “We look forward to working with SP members to promote sustainable practices that add value and help meet environmental goals.”
Kellen Mahoney, Director of SP, expressed enthusiasm about Hydro joining the partnership. “Hydro brings valuable knowledge in low-carbon aluminum and recycling. Their expertise will aid our members in creating a more sustainable automotive supply chain,” he said.
