Immaculata University Athletes Shine: Atlantic East Weekly Honors Roundup

The Atlantic East Conference recently announced its weekly awards, showcasing several outstanding athletes from Immaculata University.

Alex LePage shone once again, earning the title of Atlantic East Conference Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season. In a standout performance, LePage threw a complete game shutout against Centenary, striking out 11 batters and allowing only three hits in an 8-0 victory.

In men’s lacrosse, David Azzarano and Aidan Lawrence received spots on the AEC Honor Roll. Azzarano contributed significantly by scoring two goals and assisting on seven more, while also adding two ground balls and causing one turnover in the win over Neumann. Lawrence played a key defensive role with four ground balls and two caused turnovers.

On the women’s side, Ava Hoffman and Kelsey Caldarelli were named to the AEC Women’s Lacrosse Honor Roll. Hoffman excelled with five goals and two assists over two games, including a remarkable four-goal performance against Cedar Crest. Caldarelli made her mark defensively with seven ground balls, five draw controls, and a goal during the same match.

For softball, Jess Oldham was recognized on the AEC Weekly Honor Roll. She had a solid week at the plate, hitting 8-for-16 with four runs and five RBIs. A highlight of Oldham’s performance was her walk-off single in the second game against Haverford, marking her 100th career RBI.

In flag football, Abigail Lentowski was named Defensive Player of the Week after recording 19 tackles and four interceptions, including a pick-six. She also contributed offensively with 136 receiving yards and a touchdown. Rory Watson joined her on the Honor Roll, catching three touchdown passes and contributing significantly on defense.

Lastly, Sophia Carey and Nicholas Brown earned AEC Tennis Honors. Carey, representing the women’s team, won her singles match and a doubles match against DeSales. Meanwhile, Brown secured a hard-fought victory in his singles match, marking his fourth consecutive win.

These achievements highlight the talent and determination of Immaculata’s athletes. Their hard work is not only recognized at the conference level but also contributes to the rich tradition of excellence in college athletics.
