“We expect a lot more people to need our help,” he said. “Right now, many families we serve rely on SNAP, and without it, they’ll struggle.”

He explained that federal employees received a typical paycheck at the end of September. However, the upcoming check might be zero since it covers the period when they were furloughed.
To receive assistance, these workers need to show a valid government ID and proof of furlough. Gulde encourages anyone in need to reach out for help. “Don’t deplete your savings trying to get by. We’re here to provide food support, especially as things remain uncertain,” he said.
