Important Notice: Download Your Health Records Before TRICARE Online Patient Portal Closes!

Starting April 1, the TRICARE Online Patient Portal will no longer be available. The Department of Defense is switching to a new system called MHS GENESIS. This change means the old patient portal will be deactivated.

If you want to keep a copy of your health records, you must download them from the TOL Patient Portal before April 1. “Your medical history is important. Saving records now will help you manage your health later,” says Rear Adm. Tracy Farrill of the Defense Health Agency.

The new MHS GENESIS Patient Portal is available and offers many features. You can access your electronic health records anytime, schedule appointments, request prescription refills, view clinical notes, and send secure messages to your healthcare team. This change simplifies healthcare management by eliminating the old system.

  • Provider access: Your doctors will still have access to your complete health records.
  • Personal access: Follow the steps below to download your records. You can also request a physical copy from your military hospital or clinic.

To download your legacy records, follow these steps:

  1. Visit www.TRICAREOnline.com.
  2. Log in: Sign in with your credentials. If you don’t have an account, create one first.
  3. Access: Click on the “Health Record” button to view your data.
  4. Find data: Select “Download My Data” to choose what you want to download.
  5. Customize: Pick the records you need by selecting a person, date range, and format.
  6. Download: You can save records as PDF or other formats suitable for sharing.
  7. Save: Securely store your downloaded files and consider printing copies for safekeeping.
  • Your old records will not move to MHS GENESIS after April 1.
  • Your TOL records cover only the time your military clinic used TOL. If you transferred stations, your MHS GENESIS records might not show everything.
  • You can only download records from the past 30 years.
  • Keep your health info safe. Once you download or print it, it’s your responsibility to protect it.

Also, if you’re filing a claim with the Department of Veterans Affairs, this change won’t impact that process. Providers will still access your full health records.

For parents with kids, you can access all health data for children under 12. For kids aged 12 to 17, you can see test results and other essential information, but some details might be limited due to privacy laws.

Remember, the TRICARE Online Patient Portal will only be available until April 1. Make sure to download and save your records now!
