Liabilities On States: There has been an enormous enhance in the liabilities of state governments from 2020 to 2025. According to the data taken for 20 states, in the last 5 years, there was the most enhance in the legal responsibility in Delhi. At current Delhi’s legal responsibility has increased by 337 p.c. Apart from this, the liabilities of Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu increased by greater than 100%.

According to the finances estimate data of RBI, the Delhi authorities had a legal responsibility of Rs 3 thousand 631 crore in 2020, which increased to Rs 15 thousand 881 crore in 2025. If seen, Delhi’s legal responsibility increased by Rs 12,250 crore, which increased by 337 p.c.

After Delhi, the legal responsibility of Assam authorities has increased by 142 p.c. Karnataka’s legal responsibility of Rs 3 lakh 38 thousand 666 crore in 2020 will enhance to Rs 7 lakh 25 thousand 456 crore in 2025. Similarly, the legal responsibility of Tamil Nadu has increased by 107 p.c. In 2020, Tamil Nadu had a legal responsibility of Rs 4 lakh 62 thousand 202 crore, which increased to Rs 9 lakh 55 thousand 691 crore in 2025.

Know the situation of different states

The legal responsibility of Telangana authorities has increased by 96 p.c. Where the legal responsibility in 2020 was Rs 2 lakh 25 thousand 418 crore, it should develop into Rs 4 lakh 42 thousand 298 crore in 2025. Similarly, the legal responsibility of Chhattisgarh authorities increased by 90 p.c. The quantity which was Rs 86 thousand 6 crore in 2020 will enhance to Rs 1 lakh 63 thousand 266 crore in 2025.

If we discuss Bihar, the legal responsibility in 2020 was Rs 1 lakh 93 thousand 534 crore, which increased to Rs 3 lakh 61 thousand 522 crore in 2025. Bihar authorities has registered a rise of 87 p.c in these 5 years. Andhra Pradesh authorities noticed a rise of 83 p.c. The quantity which was Rs 3 lakh 7 thousand 672 crore in 2020 will develop into Rs 5 lakh 62 thousand 557 crore in 2025.

Rajasthan authorities had a legal responsibility of Rs 3 lakh 53 thousand 182 crore in 2020. In 2025, it should enhance by 80 p.c to Rs 6 lakh 37 thousand 35 crore. Similarly, the Kerala authorities needed to pay Rs 2,67,585 crore in 2020, which increased to Rs 4,71,91 crore in 2025. An enhance of 76 p.c was recorded in Kerala.
