India Excels at 2025 Special Olympics Winter Games: Secures 33 Inspiring Medals!

On the last day of the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025, Indian athletes shone brightly, bringing home 12 medals and reaching a total of 33 medals for the entire event.

In Snowshoeing, India excelled again, adding four more medals to the previous six. Vasu Tiwari, Shalini Chauhan, and Tanya all earned silver in the 25m Snowshoeing event, while Jahangir secured a bronze medal.

Alpine Skiing also showcased incredible talent. Radha Devi and Nirmala Devi each earned silver in the Intermediate Slalom for the women’s categories. Additionally, Abhishek Kumar scored a silver in the Novice Slalom for men, highlighting India’s strong performance in winter sports.

In Cross Country Skiing, Akriti pushed through the competition to secure a bronze in the 100m Classical Technique. The Women’s Traditional Team in Floorball rounded out the medal tally by winning bronze, completing an impressive run at the Games.

Dr. Mallika Nadda, the President of Special Olympics Bharat, expressed her pride in the athletes: “Their dedication and perseverance have shown that they can achieve remarkable things. India wrapped up the Games with 33 medals: 8 gold, 18 silver, and 7 bronze. Snowshoeing and Alpine Skiing led in medal counts with 10 each, followed by Snowboarding with 6, Short Track Speed Skating with 4, Cross Country Skiing with 2, and Floorball with 1 medal. This success highlights the determination and resilience of these athletes on a global platform.
