The new sleeper Vande Bharat trains are being developed by Indian Railways under the “Make in India” initiative and are manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai. Unlike current Vande Bharat models, which focus on short- to medium-distance trips, the sleeper variant will have fully air-conditioned coaches with berths. As demand rises for comfortable overnight options between major cities, the sleeper trains target travelers who might usually choose flights.
