New Delhi, October 31, 2025 – The Indian government has named Sampat Saraswat Bamanwali, the founder and CEO of Eco Bharat, to lead the delegation to the upcoming India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA) talks in Auckland from November 3 to 9, 2025. He will be joined by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal.
This delegation will include leaders from major industry groups like FICCI, CII, ASSOCHAM, and Invest India. They aim to boost trade between India and New Zealand, creating stronger economic ties.
According to Taruna Doliya, Director at the Commerce Ministry, the Indian High Commission in New Zealand will handle preparations to ensure a smooth visit. The FTA discussions are key to increasing business partnerships and economic cooperation between the two nations.
This initiative reflects India’s strong desire to deepen trade connections with New Zealand. Experts believe that the results of these negotiations could open doors for new collaborations, especially in sectors like technology, agriculture, and renewable energy. Recent surveys indicate that 65% of businesses in India favor expanding trade with New Zealand, highlighting a mutual interest in forging closer economic ties.
During the talks, New Zealand’s ministers will also be present to discuss ways to speed up the agreement, focusing on mutual benefits for both countries.
