After winning the silver medal in the javelin throw event of the Paris Olympics 2024, Neeraj Chopra had expressed his desire to compete with international athletes in India. Neeraj said, it is my dream to compete with international players in India. Hopefully, India will host some international event soon and I can be a part of it. Perhaps this dream of Neeraj may not be fulfilled yet, but the program of separate javelin throw competition in India can be seen as a step towards that.
Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal in javelin throw by setting a throw of 87.58 meters in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. When the Paris Olympics came, Neeraj covered more distance than ever before, but this time he had to be satisfied with the silver medal.
