Indian men’s cricket team celebrates winning the 2025 Champions Trophy.

The Indian cricket team has just returned home after a thrilling victory in the 2025 Champions Trophy held in Dubai. However, you might be surprised to know that there will be no grand celebration this time.

On the final day of the tournament, India faced New Zealand at the Dubai International Stadium. With the sun shining bright, India’s spinners took charge, helping the team restrict New Zealand to 251 runs. In response, captain Rohit Sharma led from the front with an impressive 76 runs. KL Rahul provided solid support with an unbeaten 34, guiding India to a four-wicket victory and bringing home the Champions Trophy.

This win marks India’s first ICC silverware since their triumph in the 2013 Champions Trophy. You might expect a big welcome reminiscent of the celebrations seen after the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup victory, especially those held along Marine Drive and at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

However, reports suggest that the players will head home separately from Dubai. They are likely to take a short break before reconnecting with their Indian Premier League (IPL) teams, which are gearing up for the season that kicks off on March 22.

For instance, the Mumbai Indians, featuring stars like Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya, kicked off their practice at Wankhede Stadium. Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad, with Mohammed Shami in their ranks, began their pre-season earlier this month.

Additionally, with the Women’s Premier League (WPL) finals happening at Brabourne Stadium, a large-scale victory celebration is not in the cards due to security concerns.

On another note, India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir is expected to arrive in New Delhi on Monday evening. This Champions Trophy win marks his first major title since taking over as head coach in July last year.
