Jaipur: India’s military recently made a bold statement: no terror hideout along the Line of Control is safe. On the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, top military leaders emphasized their commitment to targeting terrorist infrastructure decisively and at a time of their choosing.
Operation Sindoor, seen as the most significant military action in over fifty years, began on May 7 last year. It was in response to a terror attack in Pahalgam, leading to airstrikes on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. These operations reportedly eliminated at least 100 terrorists, showcasing India’s military readiness.
During the recent briefing, Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, who played a vital role in executing this operation, reaffirmed India’s stance on tackling terrorism. “This is just the beginning,” he said. He pointed out that while many camps have moved deeper into Pakistan, this will not shield them from India’s precise military capabilities.
Air Marshal A K Bharti, involved in the air operations during Sindoor, highlighted the crucial role of air power. He discussed how they effectively struck at terrorist camps and even detailed strikes on several airfields and aircraft. He stated, “Our military might is growing significantly,” and emphasized constant monitoring of activities in Pakistan and China.
