These contracts focus on supplying advanced rockets for the PINAKA Multiple Launch Rocket System. MoD signs contracts worth Rs 10,147 crore for rockets of PINAKA MLRS.

These new rockets will greatly modernize the Indian Army’s artillery capabilities. The ADM Type-1 rocket features a warhead that spreads sub-munitions, making it effective against enemy vehicles and troops. This capability is crucial for controlling specific areas and hindering enemy movements. In contrast, the HEPF Mk-1 rocket has an enhanced range and precision, allowing for more effective long-range strikes.

This procurement not only boosts military strength but also supports the Indian economy. It is expected to generate jobs and encourage smaller businesses to become involved in manufacturing components. This initiative aligns with the Government’s goal of self-reliance in defense technology, known as ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat. By fostering local industries, India is moving towards a stronger defense infrastructure.
