Indian MP Delegation Meets Bahrain’s Deputy PM: Strong Message Against Terrorism

Indian Delegation Visits Bahrain Amid Rising Tensions

On a recent Sunday, a diverse group of Indian lawmakers met Bahrain’s Deputy Prime Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, in Manama. The discussion centered around India’s firm stance against terrorism, especially following the tragic Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives.

Leading the delegation, BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda emphasized the strong bond between India and Bahrain. “Our relationship is built on trust and shared values, and we are united in the fight against terrorism,” he wrote on social media.

The delegation is part of a broader initiative, sending seven multi-party groups to 33 countries. This outreach aims to draw attention to Pakistan’s actions and India’s response to terrorism. Panda acknowledged the recent hostilities with Pakistan and highlighted Bahrain’s support during this challenging time.

During their visit, the MPs also engaged with Bahrain’s Shura Council chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh. Conversations focused on reinforcing bilateral ties and collective efforts to combat terror. The team also toured Bab Al Bahrain, a symbol of the rich cultural ties between the two nations.

Panda pointed out the grim reality India faces with terrorism, persistently coordinated by its neighbor. He expressed gratitude for Bahrain’s consistent support and strong remarks amidst recent developments.

The delegation’s efforts are timely. Historical context shows a pattern of tension between India and Pakistan, especially after the April 22 incident. India conducted targeted strikes on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan shortly after, leading to further tensions.

According to a recent report, 43% of Indians feel that cross-border terrorism is the biggest concern for national security. This ongoing dialogue and outreach, including the pending visit to Kuwait, aim to keep the global community informed of India’s challenges and solicit support.

As nations grapple with security issues, the focus on diplomacy and collaboration remains more crucial than ever.
