Hyderabad: The manager of the India cricket team, Devaraj, has returned home due to the passing of his mother.
A source from the Hyderabad Cricket Association shared that Devaraj, who also serves as the Secretary of the association, has gone back to Hyderabad. The funeral for his mother is scheduled for Monday and is expected to be attended by HCA President A. Jagan Mohan Rao.
Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, is performing well in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy, which is taking place in Pakistan. All of India’s matches, however, are being played in Dubai, UAE. The team started strong, defeating both Bangladesh and their rivals, Pakistan, in the opening games.
In their current match against New Zealand, India batted first and set a total of 249 runs for 9 wickets in their 50 overs. New Zealand is currently chasing that score and has lost six wickets for 159 runs, struggling against the Indian spinners.
The HCA expressed their condolences, stating, “With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our Secretary Devraj’s mother, Kamaleshwari Garu. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to Devraj and his family during this difficult time.”
