In the video, Kamm outlines how both games involve manipulating a track to hit numbered targets. The way players create unique shapes in Ouros mirrors gameplay in Zenless Zone Zero, where similar mechanics are present. Kamm launched Ouros in 2024, while Zenless Zone Zero’s version was featured in a limited-time event last year. This isn’t the first time Hoyoverse has been accused of imitating indie developers. In a recent Reddit discussion, another indie game called Map Map – A Game About Maps alleged that a mini-game in Genshin Impact copied elements from their title, particularly involving a map marker dropping after selecting a point on the map.
It’s not uncommon for game mechanics to echo one another. However, the Zenless Zone Zero and Genshin Impact controversies are more intense due to the massive fan bases involved.
