This evening, the President announced plans to nominate Lieutenant General Dan “Razin” Caine to be the new Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. This is a key role, as the Chairman is the highest-ranking military officer and serves as the main military advisor to the President and the Secretary of Defense.
General Caine is a true leader, fully committed to the mission of our armed forces. His experience and dedication make him the right choice for these challenging times. I’m eager to see how he will guide our military.
The current Chairman, General Charles “CQ” Brown, Jr., has done an outstanding job over his impressive four-decade career. He has been a wise advisor, and I commend him for his exceptional service to our nation.
I am also seeking new nominations for the Chief of Naval Operations and the Air Force Vice Chief of Staff. Admiral Lisa Franchetti and General James Slife have also had remarkable careers, and we are grateful for their commitment to our country.
We will additionally be looking for the Judge Advocates General for the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Under President Trump, our military leadership will concentrate on its main responsibilities: deterring threats, engaging in combat when necessary, and ultimately winning our wars.
