Introducing Cartwheels: Revolutionizing Mental Health Support at SHS!

Superior High School has recently launched a program called Cartwheel, aimed at supporting students’ mental health. This initiative, introduced through the counseling office, offers individual and family therapy, plus a webinar series designed to help families navigate mental health challenges.

Counselor Tiffany Mattson shared, “We want to ensure all our students receive the support they need.” Cartwheel’s team consists of therapists and psychiatrists who address a range of mental health topics in their webinars, from coping strategies to understanding mental health evaluations.

Accessing Cartwheel is straightforward. Families can either sign up for self-referrals online or contact the counseling office for assistance. Mattson emphasizes that mental health support is vital and encourages students and families to seek help.

One of the key advantages of Cartwheel is its ability to reduce wait times, which often plague community mental health resources. This service is crucial for students needing immediate access to support.

Recent studies highlight an increase in mental health issues among teens, making programs like Cartwheel more important than ever. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, nearly 1 in 5 youths experience a mental health condition. With such statistics,Cartwheel’s timely intervention can make a significant difference.

If you think Cartwheel could benefit you or a family member, you can visit Cartwheel.org or reach out to your counselor. For those in immediate need, calling or texting 988 connects you to the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
