Tomorrow, Apple is set to introduce a new entry-level iPhone. It’s looking like it will be called the iPhone 16E.

Many have speculated that this device might be the new iPhone SE since it’s set to replace the iPhone SE (3rd generation). However, signs point to it being named iPhone 16E instead of iPhone SE (4th generation).

The name iPhone 16E first popped up in December from Fixed Focus Digital, a popular account on Weibo. Another leaker, Majin Bu, also mentioned it on X, confirming the shift in naming.

Recently, Majin Bu shared a post claiming to have seen an iPhone box labeled iPhone 16E. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman noted that Apple CEO Tim Cook’s hint about a “new family member” aligns with the new name. Additionally, there are Amazon listings for cases specifically for the iPhone 16E, although these could just be guesses.

The upcoming iPhone is rumored to sport a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID, an A18 chip, a USB-C port, support for Apple Intelligence, and a custom 5G modem. Pricing and release date details will be revealed tomorrow.
