Subscribers are being warned that NBCUniversal’s channels might disappear from the platform if the two sides can’t agree on a new deal. However, YouTube TV, which reached 9.4 million subscribers in April, is shaking things up. Unlike traditional cable that’s limited to specific areas, YouTube TV can reach audiences nationwide. A recent study found that almost 77% of U.S. adults subscribe to a streaming service, indicating a significant shift away from cable. Experts argue that the pressure is on companies like YouTube TV to adapt quickly or risk losing viewers to competitors.
