Is the PlayStation Logo in Starfield a Hint at a PS5 Release? Fans Speculate!

Speculation is swirling that Starfield might be coming to the PlayStation 5. Fans recently spotted a PlayStation logo on Bethesda’s Creations website, connected to some ship decals for the game. Even though this Creation has been taken down, it has sparked excitement about a potential PS5 release.

Players are also wondering if Bethesda plans to introduce a significant content update along with the PS5 launch. There has been a quieter period for Starfield after the mixed reception of the Shattered Space expansion. Bethesda’s parent company, Microsoft, is expected to host a showcase this summer, which might be the perfect opportunity to reveal more about Starfield.

Despite recent complaints about communication, Bethesda reassured fans in June 2024 that they are committed to supporting Starfield. At least one more story expansion is confirmed, following Shattered Space. In a recent interview with YouTube channel MrMattyPlays, Todd Howard from Bethesda mentioned that they hope to deliver an annual story expansion for a long time.

Starfield debuted in September 2023 and marked Bethesda’s first new IP in years, and the first single-player game since Microsoft acquired ZeniMax Media in March 2021. IGN rated Starfield a 7/10, noting the mixture of sprawling role-playing quests and solid combat made it hard to resist despite some flaws.

In January, Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, hinted at a possible PS5 release for Starfield. Reports have surfaced that both Starfield and MachineGames’ Indiana Jones were being considered for the PlayStation. While Indiana Jones is confirmed for a spring 2025 launch on PS5, Starfield is still waiting for its announcement.

Interestingly, several Xbox games are already available on PS5, including Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush. Microsoft has also been extending its range, publishing Minecraft games on PlayStation and planning releases like Doom: The Dark Ages and Ninja Gaiden 4 for PS5 this year. There are even rumors about Halo possibly making its way to PlayStation after years of being an Xbox exclusive.

Spencer has acknowledged that Xbox’s strategy to publish games on multiple platforms is driven by business needs. He emphasized the importance of delivering great games to keep the company thriving, especially following the significant $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

Bethesda is busy, with five teams currently at work on projects like Starfield, Elder Scrolls 6, and Fallout 76. Players eagerly await what’s next for Starfield as Bethesda prepares exciting updates and expansions.
