Then there’s the waste. A habit of using three or four pods a day creates a lot of trash. Even though Nespresso pods are recyclable due to their aluminum material, the overall impact is still heavy. “Buying bags of beans is much more sustainable,” he adds.

If you’re willing to invest, a super-automatic espresso machine can simplify the process. “It makes everything from bean to cup,” he says, “without relying on those pods.”
