Israel’s Major Offensive: Devastating Casualties Reported by Gaza Rescuers

Israel’s military is ramping up its offensive against Hamas to free hostages in Gaza. This operation, named “Gideon’s Chariots,” aims to take control of key areas in the region. Reports from healthcare workers in Gaza highlight the severe impact on children, many of whom are malnourished and face significant health challenges. Dr. Victoria Rose, a British surgeon at a hospital in Khan Younis, described the exhaustion of her team, noting that many children are losing teeth and suffering from severe burn injuries.

A recent UN assessment warned that Gaza’s population is at a “critical risk” of famine, although the Israeli government disputes claims of food shortages. The current conflict was sparked by a Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, which resulted in significant casualties and hostage situations.
