New Delhi, November 2 (ANI) – India has successfully launched its heaviest communication satellite, GSAT-7R (CMS-03), enhancing the country’s communication capabilities. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chief, V. Narayanan, shared how the satellite was launched by the powerful “Baahubali” rocket, LVM3-M5, and precisely positioned in orbit.
“This mission is a great success,” Narayanan stated. The GSAT-7R satellite weighs 4,410 kg and aims to improve communications both on land and over the nearby oceans for the next 15 years.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated ISRO, highlighting the excellence and innovation that has come to define India’s space sector. He emphasized how space achievements contribute to national progress.
The Vice President, C.P. Radhakrishnan, also praised ISRO for the accomplishment and noted that this satellite would significantly strengthen maritime communication and awareness in the Indian Ocean region. It represents a step forward in the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, signifying self-reliance in technology.
Narayanan pointed out that the satellite’s design incorporates advanced technologies, and despite challenging weather conditions during the mission, the team successfully executed the launch. He thanked everyone involved for their hard work and dedication.
Additionally, Narayanan announced a significant experiment with the newly developed C-25 cryogenic stage, marking a milestone in ISRO’s capabilities. This experiment will help improve future missions by offering more flexible satellite placements.
The LVM3-M5 rocket demonstrated enhanced performance, lifting a greater payload than ever before. It can now carry up to 4,410 kg to an elliptical orbit, surpassing its previous limit of 4,000 kg.
