Ithaca College Women’s Tennis Faces Tough Challenge Against Binghamton University: Match Recap and Highlights

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women’s tennis team faced Binghamton University on Saturday at Glazer Arena. Unfortunately for the Bombers, the Bearcats took the match 4-1.

In doubles play, Binghamton quickly secured the lead. Adelie Wilson and Samantha Jaros dominated at No. 3 doubles, winning 6-0 against Martina Nicora and Ekaterina Kelly. They also took the No. 2 match, defeating Madeleine Sutro and Ava Casell-Lapetina 6-2.

In singles, Loren Cuomo triumphed at the top spot with a score of 6-4, 4-1, as her opponent had to retire due to injury. Ava Casell-Lapetina was in a promising position against Samantha Jones, leading 2-1, when Jones also withdrew from the match due to injury. However, Binghamton clinched victory by winning the No. 2 and No. 3 singles matches.

With this loss, the Bombers fall to 3-4 for the season. They will have another chance to turn things around on Wednesday, March 25, against William Smith, starting at 4 p.m.
