Jack Culberson of Premier Aquatics Commits to Arizona State University: A Bright Future in 2026

Jack Culberson, a talented swimmer from Spring, Texas, has announced his commitment to swim for Arizona State University starting in fall 2026. He trains with the Premier Aquatics Club and is a senior at Klein Cain High School.

“I’m thrilled to share my verbal commitment to ASU for my academic and athletic journey,” Culberson said. He expressed gratitude to his family, teammates, and coaches for their support.

Culberson specializes in distance freestyle events. At the 2024 Winter Junior Championships, he competed in three events. His best finish came in the 1650 freestyle, where he placed 48th with a personal record of 15:50.75. He also competed in the 500 and 200 freestyle but placed 75th and 113th, respectively.

Recently, he wrapped up his short course season at the Speedo Sectionals in Justin, Texas. There, he focused on the 100 and 500 freestyle. He finished 49th in the 100 with a time of 46.62 and improved his 500 time to a season-best 4:31.60 in prelims.

Culberson’s personal best in the 500 freestyle stands at 4:28.31, achieved at the same meet last year.

  • 200 Freestyle: 44.69
  • 500 Freestyle: 4:28.31
  • 1650 Freestyle: 15:50.74

With these times, Culberson would have ranked well on the Sun Devils’ roster. Arizona State University has established a strong swim program and recently moved to the Big 12 Conference. They emerged as the conference champion this past season, finishing ahead of the University of Arizona.

Culberson joins a promising recruiting class at ASU, including swimmers like Jack Wroblewski and Caleb Kattau, all gearing up for the class of 2030.

Swimming in college is a dream for many athletes. A study by the NCAA found that college swimming can lead to significant personal and academic growth, making it a valuable experience. Overall, Culberson’s commitment reflects his commitment to excellence in both academics and athletics.
