Morgan (Goates) Jackson, a proud alumna of the University of the Ozarks, has made a special contribution to her school. She established the Roy and Virginia Goates Scholarship Endowment with a $20,000 pledge. This endowment honors her grandparents for the influence they had on her life.
Morgan’s aim is to reflect her love and gratitude. The scholarship will mainly support students from Dover High School in Arkansas and those pursuing business majors. As she states, “My grandpa and grandma were a huge part of my upbringing. Their support helped me so much in my educational journey.”
Both Morgan and her husband, Hunter Jackson, a 2003 Ozarks graduate, have been active supporters of the University for over ten years. Their involvement includes contributions to the Ozarks Annual Fund and the Wilson Athletic Complex. Earlier this year, Morgan was recognized with the 2025 Emerging Philanthropist Award.
Professionally, Morgan is the senior director of international transportation and global logistics at Walmart. She oversees a team that manages complex supply chains worldwide. Her educational background includes a business degree from Ozarks, an MBA from Arkansas State University, and a micromaster’s degree in supply chain operations from MIT.
Beyond her job, Morgan is dedicated to community service. She has served on the National Shipper Advisory Committee and is currently vice-chair of the Arkansas Trucking Association 40 Under 40 Council. She lives in Fayetteville with Hunter and their twin daughters, Anna and Ellie.
Recent data shows a strong trend in alumni giving, with many graduates wanting to give back to their institutions. A survey from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education reported that approximately 68% of alumni donate to their schools, often motivated by a desire to support future students. Morgan’s initiative is a testament to this growing trend.
