New Offensive Coordinator Jason Beck Takes the Helm at Michigan
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Jason Beck has officially joined the University of Michigan football team as the offensive coordinator. Head coach Kyle Whittingham made the announcement on January 2, 2025, bringing Beck’s wealth of experience and a fresh vision to the program.
Whittingham praised Beck as a creative play caller and an outstanding coach, particularly in developing quarterbacks. “He knows how to keep defenses guessing with a balanced attack, whether running or passing,” Whittingham noted. In previous roles, including at Syracuse and Virginia, Beck consistently improved team performance. At Syracuse, despite facing injuries, he still guided the offense to set multiple records, including the most rushing yards in a game since 1996. His time at Virginia was equally impressive, with three quarterbacks throwing for over 20 touchdowns in consecutive seasons under his guidance.
His coaching journey began in college, where he played quarterback at BYU. Over the years, he’s built a strong track record, and his diverse coaching experiences have equipped him to lead Michigan’s offensive unit.
