LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas women’s golf team is gearing up for the NCAA Columbus Regional set for May 5-7. They are ranked as the #4 seed, marking the best seeding ever for the program.

This regional will feature three rounds of stroke play with 18 holes each day. The top five teams will earn a spot in the NCAA Championship from May 16-21 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. Additionally, the lowest-scoring individual not on an advancing team will qualify as well.

A strong field will compete alongside Kansas, including #1 Arkansas, #2 LSU, and #3 Ohio State as the host team, plus nine more contenders.

Head coach Lindsay Kuhle is bringing along seniors Lauren Clark, Lily Hirst, and Johanna Ebner, along with junior Amy DeKock, sophomore Lyla Louderbaugh, and freshman Ebba Nordstedt.

Kuhle expressed excitement about the competition: “We’re looking forward to Ohio State. It’s a championship course, and we’ve done great prep. We believe we can make it to the National Championship given our strong ball striking and motivation.”

The Jayhawks have had a remarkable season, winning five team titles and four individual championships. Clark leads the team with an impressive 71.7 stroke average and three individual wins, showcasing her talent in several competitions.

Hirst and DeKock have also shone, each participating in all 10 events this season and achieving multiple rounds in the 60s. Hirst recently won her first collegiate event at the Match in the Desert.

Nordstedt, who joined for the spring, holds a 72.2 scoring average and recorded an exceptional 54-hole score of 209 (-7). This performance highlights her rapid adjustment to the collegiate level.

Under Kuhle’s guidance, the Jayhawks are making their fourth appearance at the NCAA Regional in school history and the third consecutive year. With 18 NCAA Regionals as a coach and four as a player at Tulane, her experience shines through.
