The Kansas men’s golf team is gearing up to finish their fall season at the Ka’anapali Classic in Maui. They recently placed fourth at the Quail Valley Invitational, showcasing their competitive spirit.
The tournament will feature 19 teams, including schools like Hawai?i, Boise State, and Oklahoma. Over three days, players will compete in an 18-18-18 format, aiming for top spots.
Coach Jamie Bermel expressed enthusiasm for the event, noting their familiarity with the course. He said, “We are playing well and want to continue that momentum.” The team includes a mix of experienced players and newcomers, with senior Will King and sophomore Hartej Grewal shining particularly bright this season.
Grewal has achieved three consecutive top-10 finishes, boasting a stroke average of 70.0. His consistency includes six rounds in the 60s. King has also been a solid contributor, with an average of 70.9 and three top-20 finishes. The team’s overall performance has sparked excitement among fans and coaches alike, reflective of a strong commitment to improvement.
