Jennifer Lawrence Explains Why She Skipped Intimacy Coordination with Robert Pattinson on ‘Die My Love’: ‘He’s Not Pervy’

Jennifer Lawrence recently shared her experiences filming Die My Love alongside Robert Pattinson. Directed by Lynne Ramsay, the movie follows Grace (played by Lawrence), who struggles with postpartum depression, leading to an emotional journey alongside her partner Jackson (Pattinson).

During a conversation on the Las Culturistas podcast, Lawrence revealed how she and Pattinson built a strong rapport through dance lessons. “It was like team-building exercises,” she said. This helped them with choreography for their intimate scenes.

Lawrence discussed the role of intimacy coordinators, professionals who help facilitate discussions during sensitive scenes. She noted, “I felt really safe with him,” emphasizing that their conversations often centered around family rather than any awkwardness.

Interestingly, she mentioned, “If there was any tension, I would probably have asked for an intimacy coordinator.” This reflects a shift in Hollywood, where intimacy coordinators have become more common, especially after the #MeToo movement, to ensure actors feel secure during intimate moments.

Lawrence also talked about her comfort with nudity, stating, “I don’t care about nudity. I think being pregnant took away a lot of vanity anxiety.” Filming while pregnant seemed to change her perspective. Before being pregnant, she was focused on dieting and fitness, but during this time, she felt liberated from those concerns.

Die My Love opens in theaters on November 7, featuring LaKeith Stanfield, Nick Nolte, and Sissy Spacek among others.

As Hollywood grapples with evolving norms around intimacy and on-screen portrayals, Lawrence’s experience sheds light on the importance of comfort and communication in filmmaking—a topic that resonates both with audiences and industry professionals today.
