Jeremy Clarkson recently shared his journey toward better health after a serious scare last year. The 66-year-old TV presenter has made some big lifestyle changes, especially regarding his diet and exercise, following urgent heart surgery.
While filming for ITV’s Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, Clarkson noted how his health tracker keeps him in check. He mentioned, “I looked at my phone and saw I was taking fewer steps this week than last.” His app even alerted him about eating fewer sausages, to which he joked, “I sit here and eat celery.” Clarkson feels healthier and happier with his changes.
One of the major steps he took was consulting a dietitian, who advised him to ditch processed foods. “If it has more than one ingredient, don’t eat it,” he said. This new approach seems to be working well for him.
In addition to focusing on his health, Clarkson has been busy running his pub, The Farmer’s Dog, in the Cotswolds. The pub, which opened in August 2024, has drawn in some notable visitors, including Ellen DeGeneres, who moved to the UK after Donald Trump’s election. Clarkson has welcomed her and her wife, Portia de Rossi, to the area, sharing that it’s great to have them around.
DeGeneres has also embraced her new life in England, even changing her hairstyle. An event at The Farmer’s Dog featured an acoustic performance, and DeGeneres was spotted dancing joyfully with friends. Despite past controversies surrounding her, Clarkson had only good things to say about her, emphasizing how friendly and lovely she was during her visits.
Running a pub isn’t without its challenges, though. Clarkson admitted that The Farmer’s Dog is facing issues like theft and high expenses, spending a staggering £27,000 a month just to manage parking and traffic. He even mentioned that they’ve lost a surprising number of pint glasses.
Overall, Clarkson’s health journey and his endeavors with the pub highlight a fresh chapter in his life, filled with challenges and new friendships.
