Jeremy Renner Reveals Disappointing Disney Offer: ‘Hawkeye’ Season 2 Salary Cut by 50%!

Jeremy Renner recently shared why he won’t be returning for a second season of Hawkeye on Disney+. He revealed that the company offered him only half of what he earned for the first season. This pay cut came right after a serious snowplow accident in early 2023 that nearly took his life and required extensive rehabilitation.

In a candid conversation on the High Performance podcast, Renner expressed his frustration. He said, “They asked me to do season two, and they offered me half the money. It’s going to take me twice the amount of work for half the pay—eight months of my time for less.” He added, “Did you think I’m only half the Jeremy because I got run over? Is that why you want to pay me less?”

A source from Disney disputed his claims but did not provide details. Renner clarified that his issue wasn’t with Marvel, but with the financial side of the company. “I told them to go fly a kite with that insulting offer,” he said. Despite his disappointment, he emphasized that he still loves the character and is content to step away if needed.

Typically, actors see pay increases in subsequent seasons of popular shows. Hawkeye debuted in 2021, receiving great reviews with a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and peaking in views over its five-week run.
