The Nassau County Department of Health has reported a confirmed case of Hepatitis A linked to a food handler at Jersey Mike’s Subs, located at 24 Atlantic Avenue in Oceanside. If you ate or used the restrooms there between April 5 and April 19, 2025, you might have been exposed to the virus.

While the likelihood of spreading the virus is considered low, it’s best to consult your healthcare provider if you were at the restaurant during that time. There’s a post-exposure treatment available if you act within 14 days of exposure. If you’re outside that timeframe, keep an eye out for symptoms, and consider vaccination for future protection. Those already vaccinated or who have had Hepatitis A in the past do not need to take any additional action.
