John Schneider Reveals: Jalen Milroe Was Just a Hair Away from Being Seattle’s Top-Rated QB!

The Seahawks surprised fans by choosing a quarterback in the third round of the draft. Even more surprising was their pick of Jalen Milroe over Shedeur Sanders.

After the second day of the draft, Seattle’s G.M. John Schneider was asked if Milroe was their top-rated quarterback. He replied, “No, I don’t think he was actually, no. But it was very close. He’s a unique athlete and a special young man. We’re going to work on developing him as a quarterback, and I think he’ll bring something special to the team.”

Schneider highlighted Milroe’s impressive speed, clocking in at 21.2 miles per hour. This kind of athleticism could signal success in the NFL.

“He’s a William Campbell Award winner,” Schneider mentioned. “He has worked under four different offensive coordinators. His work ethic is outstanding. His mom served in the Navy, and his dad is a Marine. When he visited us, he made a great impression.”

This selection shakes things up in Seattle. The contract with Sam Darnold is only for a year. When the Seahawks feel that Milroe is ready, Darnold might move on, and Milroe could be the next franchise quarterback.

Interestingly, the Seahawks haven’t had a quarterback like this since they snagged a franchise player in round three 13 years ago. Could Milroe be the next Seattle superstar? Only time will tell.
