Johnson Crowned PSAC West Baseball Athlete of the Week: A Highlight for Indiana University of Pennsylvania Athletics!

Lock Haven, Pa. – Senior infielder Peyton Johnson has earned the title of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Athlete of the Week. This recognition was announced Monday afternoon.

Last week, IUP concluded its regular season with a split series against Gannon, finishing with a record of 24-25 overall and 17-11 in conference play.

Johnson stood out during this series, starting all four games at third base. He posted an impressive .583 batting average, with seven hits, three runs, eight RBIs, two doubles, and one triple. His standout moment came in the first game against Gannon, where he went 4-for-4 at the plate, scored two runs, and drove in five RBIs, including a double.

PSAC Baseball Athletes of the Week:

  • East Athlete: Aidan Greaney, Shepherd
  • East Pitcher: Jack Robinson, Shippensburg
  • West Athlete: Peyton Johnson, IUP
  • West Pitcher: Nate Malak, Slippery Rock

Next up: IUP will face East Stroudsburg in the PSAC Tournament on Wednesday, May 7 at 9:30 a.m. The game will be held at Cooper Park, hosted by Millersville University.
