GA Pet Food Partners recently held an exciting two-day event at its Plocks Farm in Chorley, Lancashire, welcoming 238 independent pet businesses from 12 countries. This gathering took place on June 4-5, 2025, and aimed to strengthen relationships within the pet food industry.

The event featured facility tours, networking opportunities, and educational sessions focused on innovation in pet food. Attendees explored impressive areas like the Freshtrusion HDP production system and the state-of-the-art £75 million Ingredients Kitchen.

On the first day, participants got an exclusive look at the manufacturing process and learnt about the innovative Peptide+ line, which made its debut earlier this year. Carl from Healthy K9 remarked, "I’ve seen many pet food factories, but GA’s Plocks Farm stands out as the best."

Day two was packed with informative sessions, including a detailed look at GA’s development process for the Peptide+ line. Attendees from the UK, Ireland, and Italy shared their business growth stories, providing valuable insights into what works in the industry.

Yummypets, a pet consumer research company, also contributed with a presentation on pet owner trends and strategies for independent businesses. This aligns with recent surveys showing a growing demand for high-quality, unique pet products as pet owners become more discerning.

Gerry and Fiona Veerman from Veerman’s Pets and Co noted the familial atmosphere and transparency during the tours, expressing increased confidence in selling their own recipes.

Roger Bracewell, chairman of GA Pet Food Partners, emphasized the importance of supporting independent specialists, stating, "They are the heart of the pet food industry." This commitment is reflected in GA’s dedication to innovation, having developed the Freshtrusion methodology since 2012, which focuses on using fresh ingredients.
