The event, titled “Fourth & Feast: From the Field to the Table,” will take place on April 26 at the Good Food Project in Millvale. It’s an invite-only affair and will feature a communal meal prepared with food rescued from the draft. A legendary Steelers player will also join the festivities, though their identity remains a surprise.
Alyssa Cholodofsky, the CEO of 412 Food Rescue, will lead a fireside chat during the event. Together with a representative from Visit Pittsburgh and chef Jamilka Borges, they will discuss how Pittsburgh’s sports teams contribute to sustainability and help combat food insecurity in the area.
Cholodofsky expressed her pride in the local community, stating, “We’re ready to undertake this major food recovery project with them and excited to celebrate together afterward.”
In the past, 412 Food Rescue has successfully gathered surplus food from large events, including concerts by Billie Eilish and Machine Gun Kelly. As the NFL Draft attracts millions of viewers, this organization will work behind the scenes to collect and transport extra food from Acrisure Stadium.
