Dan Egan, a Pulitzer Prize-nominated author and journalist, will be the keynote speaker at the Clinton River Watershed Council’s annual meeting at Oakland University. He’ll discuss the past, present, and future of our freshwater resources, especially the Great Lakes.

The talk is set for 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025, in the Oakland Center. It’s free for everyone to attend. While registration is not mandatory, it is encouraged.
This event is made possible by sponsorship from Oakland University and the Clinton River Watershed Council, along with support from the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, and English, and the College of Arts and Sciences.
Egan is the author of well-regarded books like The Devil’s Element and The Death and Life of the Great Lakes. He will be available for a book signing after his presentation.
Following Egan’s talk, the CRCW will host its annual meeting from 6-8 p.m. in the Oakland Center. Community members are welcome to join.
During the meeting, attendees can learn about the CRCW’s achievements from the past year and its goals for 2025. There will also be opportunities for those who want to get involved in improving the Clinton River and Lake St. Clair.
If you wish to attend the CRCW meeting, please note that registration is required.
