Join CUK’s Exciting National Science Day Celebration at the Science Campus!

The Departments of Biotechnology, Plant Sciences, Chemistry, and Animal Sciences at the Central University of Kashmir celebrated National Science Day with enthusiasm. This year’s theme was “Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat.”

Prof. Abid Hamid Dar, the Director of the Science Campus, highlighted the need for scientific thinking and creativity among students. He stressed that achieving a developed India requires teamwork and collective action. He also discussed how Nobel Prize-winning research has transformed medical practices, improving health care worldwide.

Dean of Physical and Chemical Sciences, Prof. M Yousuf, encouraged students to embrace innovation. He believes that creative thinking is essential for India’s advancement in science and technology.

Dr. Dharmendra, an Associate Professor in Biotechnology, talked about the importance of partnerships between research and industry. He discussed initiatives like Startups India and Digital India, which aim to tap into the potential of young people.

Dr. Anil Chandra, also from the Biotechnology department, inspired the youth to contribute to the vision of a developed India. He recognized the skills and talent of Indian youth and emphasized nurturing the next generation of innovators.

Dr. Rifat Akbar from the Chemistry department shared insights on empowering youth, pointing out various government initiatives aimed at strengthening their capabilities.

In her welcome speech, Dr. Shahnaz Perveen from Plant Sciences stressed the importance of integrating science and technology to address today’s societal challenges. The event drew faculty and students from different departments, fostering a spirit of collaboration and innovation.

Dr. Shaiesta Shah, also from Plant Sciences, concluded the gathering by expressing gratitude to all who participated.
