Women in Vicksburg and Warren County have a great chance to learn about health at a special event on Thursday, June 26, at 5:30 p.m. Merit Health River Region is hosting a women’s health after-hours gathering.
Dr. Joyce Muruthi, an OB/GYN with Merit Health, will lead the informal meeting. It will take place at Merit Health River Region, located at 2100 US-61 North in Vicksburg. This event is free and will address key topics like prenatal care, reproductive health, and how to manage different life stages.
Dr. Muruthi wants to create a welcoming environment where women can ask questions and get valuable information about their health. “We want every woman to feel empowered to engage with her health journey,” she said.
Admission is free, but it’s a good idea to RSVP. You can do this on Facebook or Eventbrite:

Events like this are important as they empower women with knowledge. In recent years, there’s been a growing trend of women seeking community support and education around health issues. The CDC reports that nearly 60% of women in the U.S. express the need for more health education, especially regarding reproductive health.
Engaging talks like this one help bridge that gap and provide a platform for women to share experiences and ask the questions that matter most to them.
Understanding women’s health is vital. As Dr. Muruthi noted, every journey is unique. This event is a step towards enriching those journeys, connecting women with resources, and fostering community.
