Join Global Leaders at the 17th GRIHA Summit: Innovating for a Climate-Resilient Future | India News – The Times of India

Global leaders will come together in New Delhi on November 3-4 for the 17th GRIHA Summit, focusing on ‘Innovate to Act for a Climate Resilient World.’ The summit aims to generate impactful climate solutions for India’s built environment.

Hosted by the GRIHA Council, the event will feature over 50 speakers in various sessions, emphasizing the need for innovative policies and technologies. Discussions will explore how to enhance the resilience of cities and communities through collaboration and advanced practices.

Vibha Dhawan, Director General of TERI and President of the GRIHA Council, noted that innovation is key as cities evolve. She stressed that creating sustainable habitats requires continuous commitment and new ideas. Sanjay Seth, CEO of the GRIHA Council, echoed this sentiment, stating that it’s time to transform efforts from planning into action.

During the summit, experts will discuss India’s shift toward low-carbon growth. Topics include energy security, climate education, and community climate efforts. Sessions will tackle issues like climate-smart water management and urban air quality.

The event will also showcase the Nirmaan Exhibition, displaying sustainable technologies, such as Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) facades. A new publication will evaluate environmental performance standards for metro stations across India.

With climate change becoming a pressing global concern, events like the GRIHA Summit shine a spotlight on the urgent need for sustainable practices. According to a recent study, nearly 60% of urban areas are already vulnerable to climate-related risks. Engaging with local communities and implementing effective policies can build a more resilient future.

GRIHA, recognized by the Government of India, offers a framework to assess the environmental impact of buildings. By working together, we can advance toward a low-carbon, adaptive tomorrow.
