Ambassadors, trade commissioners, and business owners from about 30 countries are gearing up for the Build India Expo 2025, happening in Delhi from March 19 to 21. Organized by the Indian Industries Association (IIA), this event will highlight products from the ‘One District One Product’ scheme, showcasing the unique offerings of various Indian districts.
Alok Agarwal, the National General Secretary of the IIA, announced that entrepreneurs from Kanpur will also join in. This expo is seen as a crucial opportunity for businesses to recover from recent setbacks caused by events like the Russia-Ukraine war and natural disasters in Turkey.
In attendance will be ministers from both the Central and state governments, along with key officials from the MSME and Industries departments. Although participants need to cover their stall expenses initially, the IIA plans to refund 75% of these costs after the event wraps up. An exciting feature will be a startup pavilion, where over 20 students from IIT Roorkee will showcase their innovative projects.
Attendees can expect a wide range of products, including leather goods like purses and belts, spices, textile items, engineering products, and more. This expo promises to be a significant platform for Kanpur’s entrepreneurs, an area renowned for its industrial contributions. Business representatives from countries like Iran, Iraq, Mexico, Nepal, Bhutan, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, and Bangladesh are set to participate as well.
According to recent studies by the World Bank, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) play a vital role in India’s economy, contributing over 30% to GDP and generating millions of jobs. Events like the Build India Expo not only highlight local craftsmanship but also help global investors connect with emerging Indian businesses.
By creating a space for dialogue, collaboration, and commerce, the Build India Expo aims to foster international partnerships and boost local economies. As social media buzz around the event grows, many entrepreneurs are expressing excitement about the networking opportunities and potential for growth. This reflects a wider trend where businesses are increasingly looking to global markets for expansion.
