The City of Goose Creek is excited to announce the grand opening of a new community food forest at John McCants Veterans Park on Friday, April 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. This unique project has been over a year in the making and is part of the city’s goal to create sustainable, community-centered spaces that promote education and access to fresh food.
The food forest spans about 19,000 square feet and is designed to build connections among residents while addressing food insecurity. It features a diverse mix of plants, including berries and fruit trees, and serves as a free, shared garden for everyone in the community.
